We are seeking a skilled and experienced Employment Litigation Associate to join our team. You will be responsible for representing our clients in all types of employment matters, including unpaid wage claims, wrongful termination claims, and various discrimination and Title VII related actions.
Duties
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support ongoing cases
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts
- Engage in consultations with potential clients
- Litigate cases in court, presenting arguments and evidence on behalf of clients
- Negotiate settlements and plea agreements with opposing counsel
- Advise clients on legal matters and provide guidance on potential outcomes
- Attend depositions, hearings, and other court proceedings
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies and ensure effective representation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact ongoing cases
- Ability to take lead on majority of tasks associatd with litigation, with oversight as needed from managing partner.
Skills
- Ideally 3+ years of employment litigation experience.
- Strong research skills with the ability to gather and analyze complex legal information
- Proficient in legal drafting, including the preparation of pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Preparing and responding to discovery requests
- Experience in litigating cases in court with excellent oral advocacy skills
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents
- Knowledge of legal administrative procedures and practices
- Familiarity with conducting thorough legal research using Westlaw
- Strong negotiation skills to effectively represent clients' interests
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Commitment to doing what is right, even when it is hard
- Friendly attitude to both members of the firm, especially with legal staff, and clients

The salary range for this position starts at $125,000, depending on your experience.
We have a 1,500 hour requirement (which includes a portion of non-billable work, such as marketing opportunities, in-office strategy meetings, pro bono work, etc.), with an opportunity to earn a bonus for hours billed above the threshold. The bonus structure will be explained in detail in the offer letter to the right candidate and will allow you know exactly what you can earn (not a “black box” compensation system). In addition, we will pay a stipend for a cell phone, a stipend for your own health insurance plan, and provide you with a firm laptop and necessary computer equipment.
